Keep HOPE Alive

The medical community is often trained to only see hope in a cure. But the value of hope is by living hopefully, rather than hopelessly, cure or no cure, good statistic or lousy statistic.

Even when it seems like there is no hope, there is hope. We might hope for a cure. Or we might hope for peace. Or we might hope for a heaven. Or we might hope that someone else will find hope.Hope and reality need not clash. Hope should always be cultivated and never challenged. We can live for weeks without food, days without water, but we can only live hours without hope. As long as it is nourished, hope is like a strong vine that can grow over and around obstacles.

Our hope is that regardless of where you are in your own life that you live it with hopefullness and without anxiety. We leave you with St. Francis de Sales Prayer titled, "Be at Peace"

Do not look forward in fear to the changes in life;
rather, look to them with full hope that as they arise,
God, whose very own you are,
will lead you safely through all things;
and when you cannot stand it,
God will carry you in His arms.

Do not fear what may happen tomorrow;
the same understanding Father who cares for you today
will take care of you then and every day.

He will either shield you from suffering
or will give you unfailing strength to bear it.
Be at peace,
and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations.

   Keep Hope Alive

Greek mythology tells us that a maiden named Pandora was given a box by the gods but was forbidden to open her lovely gift. Unable to control her curiosity, Pandora lifted the lid, just a little. Out flew disease, plague, famine, floods, and all the other misfortunes and tragedies of the world. Horrified, she tried to slam the lid shut, but it was too late. Only one thing remained inside the box: hope. Pandora then released hope to the world.

Hope is the expectation of something better to come in the future. It’s meaning is unique to each of us but Hope is common to all.

As long as we're alive, until the last minute, we can have hope. It gives strength and courage to battle illness but also wisdom to find meaning in life and death. Hope's focus shifts throughout life. Hope is a journey, not a destination. It's value lies in the exploration. Hope is the way we live life.
