Primary Peritoneal Cancer is an aggressive cancer with few warning signs. It affects between 2000 - 10,000 women in the United States each year. Even those with low risks and healthy lifestyles are prey to this vicious, silent disease. Just ask Martha Kinnecom. She did everything right in her life to avoid cancer, so both she and her doctor were shocked to learn that the vague stomach distress she was experiencing turned out to be Stage IV cancer. Primary Peritoneal Cancer (PPC)  originates in the peritoneum which is the membrane or 'inside skin' responsible for producing rich fluids supporting our abdominal organs.

As a result, Martha's husband, daughters, and several friends have organized this non-profit foundation to create an awareness of the vague and common symptoms of this disease, and to offer genuine help to those other survivors and families in need.

Biologically, peritoneal cancer cells mimic ovarian cancer cells and is treated in a similar manner. But it is a separate cancer with separate issues, and unfortunately after most patients are diagnosed, they soon discover that there is limited information, help and support specific to this type of cancer for survivors and families.

WHAT IS YOUR CA 125???

Primary Peritoneal Cancer, Ovarian Cancer and other Gynecological Cancers are typically discovered in advanced stages. When diagnosed at Stage I or Stage II, survival rates dramatically improve.

This Foundation supports all efforts, research and organizations which strive to identify opportunities to screen for cancer early.

For more information on what your personal CA 125 is and how that relates to cancer, consult your doctor. For more information on
